The characters write their own stories…

So here’s a fun fact about Crescendo. When I started writing it, I had full intentions of writing a thriller. But then, as they almost always do, the characters stole the story and took it a different direction. So now we have a love story on our hands.
The love story just sort of flowed as I was writing it. The world Chloe and Jesse live in took me back to my college days. I also had a crush on one of my TAs (nothing came out of it, unlike Jesse and Chloe.) I smile as I think back on that. I was a freshman and it was in my religious studies course (the irony.) Silly little school girl crush. But that’s part of what inspired me to write about the forbidden love between TA and student.
That’s something that I think is really interesting in the love affair between Jesse and Chloe. They are not supposed to be together in so many ways, but as it does, love overcomes all. They aren’t supposed to be together by school rules, they probably shouldn’t be together because of their dark pasts, and the trust issues that they both have could ruin any relationship. But despite all odds against them, they still fall in love.
But the big question is does it work out in the end? You’ll just have to read to find out!
